Jesica Lorena Kwan Potoy
I am 15 years old and my birthday is 23 March 1996. I live in Siares with my mother, father and grandmother. I have five half-brothers and sisters but they don't live with us. I have finished the first year of high school but had to stop and lost a year this past year. There is no high school in my community and so with a scholarship I will be able to continue my high school studies by traveling to either San Ramon or Matagalpa to study.
I have decided to continue my studies because I want to make something of myself and to be a professional. There are many young people who want to become professionals but very few of us really reach this goal.
In addition, I have decided to continue my studies because I want my country to improve and in my opinion the only way to do this is to make sure that everyone can get an education and that the number of professionals in Nicaragua increases. I know we have a long way to go to reach this goal but I want to do my very best to be part of this effort.
Receiving a scholarship will be a great help to me because I will not have to worry day after day and month after month about where the money will come for my school expenses. Even though a partial scholarship is helpful it still does not cover the costs that my parents need to pay to ensure that I can attend high school.
After finishing high school I want to go on to university and get a degree in business administration. This has been a goal of mine since I entered high school. I know it will be a lot of work. However, after completing my studies at the university I plan to get a good job where I can use my intellectual talents and help my parents who have done so much to help me.
I am so grateful to the Scholarship Fund and for my sponsors that I will be able to move forward with the help of God to fulfill my dreams. My God bless all of you who are helping me to reach my dreams.
